Harold Carter Jr
...is a third generation preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, having
been licensed and ordained in the church of his upbringing (1980), the
New Shiloh Baptist Church, Baltimore, Maryland.
...is married to Rev. Monique T. Carter, and they are the parents of
two sons, Daniel Nathan and Timothy Alphonso. He is the son of Dr. and
Mrs. (Also Dr.) Harold A. Carter and has one sister, Weptanomah Davis.
...is a graduate of Eastern College, St. Davids, Pennsylvania, earning
a B.A. in English Literature/Writing and Religion...is a graduate of
the Lancaster Theological Seminary, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, earning a
Master of Divinity degree...is a graduate of the United Theological
Seminary, Dayton, Ohio, earning the Doctor of Ministry degree, and
among many honors and awards, he received the Doctor of Divinity degree
from the Virginia Seminary and College, Lynchburg, Virginia, and the
Doctor of Humane Letter from Cumberland College, Williamsburg,
Kentucky. In 2006, he was inducted into Morehouse College,
Atlanta, Georgia, as a Martin Luther King, Jr. Distinguished Preacher.
...is the pastor (since 1996) of the New Shiloh Baptist Church,
Baltimore, Maryland, serving along with his father, Dr. Harold A.
Carter. Together, they lead the congregation of more than 5,000 active
members with emphasis on Missions, Evangelism, and Christian Education.
His preaching is heard widely throughout this nation, and through
radio, television and internet streaming broadcasts. He formerly
pastored the First Baptist Church, Petersburg, Virginia, believed to be
the oldest African-American Baptist congregation in America*
(1989-1996) and the Zion Baptist Church, Reading, Pennsylvania
(1983-1989).
